Free Crochet Dragon Boy Accessories Pattern

Dragon Boy Accessories

What you’ll need:
*Size J (6mm) and H (5mm) hooks
*I Love This Yarn in Royal, Jelly Bean, Soft Blue, and Orange
*Tapestry needle for sewing in ends
*Stuffing for the tail and horns         
      
Gauge: With a J hook 7sc and 7 rows=2x2”

Abbreviations:
*ch- chain
*slst- slip stitch
*BB- back bump
*sc- single crochet
*scdec- single crochet decrease
*hdc- half double crochet
*dc- double crochet 
*MC- magic circle

**This pattern is worked from the bottom up like a footed onesie.

Dragon Suit- With Royalty and a J hook
Left Leg
Round 1: MC, ch1, place 9sc in the MC and slst to join. (9) Now work in continuous rounds
Round 2: 2sc in each stitch around. (18)
Round 3: (*2sc, sc) repeat from * around. (27)
Round 4-5: sc in each stitch around. (27)
Round 6: sc in next 9 stitches, scdec 5 times, sc next 8 stitches. (22)
Round 7:  sc next 9 stitches, scdec 3 times, sc next 7 stitches. (19) 
Round 8: sc next 9 stitches, scdec 2 times, sc next 6 stitches. (17)
Round 9-19: sc in each stitch around. Tie off leaving a long tail for sewing up crotch later. (17)

Right Leg
Round 1-19: Repeat rounds 1-19 of Left Leg, but don’t tie off. (17)
Round 20: sc in next 8 stitches, start your 9th sc, but leave 2 loops on your hook. (see pic)
Continue to crochet on to other leg
Round 20: with 2 loops still on your hook from the left leg, insert your hook into the next stitch on your right leg, (the stitch after the one you tied off) (see pic)
yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through the 3 remaining loops.

Sc in next 15 stitches, (you should be at the stitch before you tied off) start your sc in the next stitch, but leave 2 loops on your hook, insert your hook in the next available sc on the other leg, (see pic) yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through the 3 remaining loops. Sc in remaining 7 stitches. (you should be back at your stitch marker) (32)
Now take your tail from the Left Leg and sew up and hole in the crotch.
Round 21-30: sc in each stitch around. (32)
Now to create the sleeve holes

Round 31: Ch10, skip 4 stitches, sc in next 12 stitches, ch10, skip 4 stitches, sc in last 12 stitches. (12 sc on front, 12 sc on back, 2 ch10 spots, 2 skip 4 stitches spots)
Round 32: sc in each stitch around including the ch10 stitches. (44)
Round 33: (*sc in next 3 stitches, scdec) repeat * around ending with a sc in the last 4 stitches. (36)
Round 34: (*sc in next 2 stitches, scdec) repeat from * around. (27)
Round 35: sc in next 27 stitches.
From now on you’ll be working in rows to create the hood. Don’t forget to ch1 and turn at the start of each row.
Continue on to Hood
Hood-
Row 1: ch1 and turn, sc in next 20 stitches. (20)
Row 2-4: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. (20)
Row 5: ch1 and turn, (*sc in next stitch, 2sc) repeat from * across. (30)
Row 6: ch1 and turn, (*sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc) repeat from * across. (40)
Row 7: ch1 and turn, (*sc in next 3 stitches, 2sc) repeat from * across. (50)
Row 8-15: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. (50)
Row 16: ch 1 and turn, (*sc in next 3 stitches, scdec) repeat from* across. (40)
Row 17-21: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. (40)
Row 22: ch 1 and turn, (*sc in next 2 stitches, scdec) repeat from * across. (30)
Row 23-31: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. (30)


Continue in the same direction as Row 31 to sc down the side of the hood and around the face opening of the hood. (See pics)
Row 32: sc in next 27 stitches (approx.), slst in next 8 stitches, sc up the other side of the hood in next 27 stitches (approx.) Tie off and leave a long tail for sewing. (62)

*Sew the top of the hood together by weaving your tapestry needle in and out of the stitches on both sides. (see pic)

*Cinch the back of the hood to make three spikes and sew them in place. (see pic)    



Arms (make 2)- With Royalty and a J hook
Round 1: reattach yarn at the armhole, ch1, sc in same stitch, the ch10 stitches, and the 4 skipped stitches. Slst to join. (14)
Round 2-12: sc in each stitch around. Tie off and weave in ends. (14) Repeat for other side.

Tail- With Soft Blue and an H hook

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 6 sc in the MC, slst to join. (6) Now work in continuous rounds.
Round 2: sc in each stitch around. (6)
Round 3: (*sc, 2sc) repeat from * around. (9)
Round 4: sc in each stitch around. (9)
Round 5: (*sc next 2, 2sc) repeat from * around. (12)
Round 6: (*sc next 3, 2sc) repeat from * around. (15)
Round 7: (*sc next 4, 2sc) repeat from * around. (18)
Round 8: dc in next 6 stitches, hdc, sc, hdc, dc next 6 stitches, slst next 3 stitches. (18) Stuff Tail.
Round 9: (*sc, scdec) repeat from * around. (12)
Round 10: scdec in each stitch around. (6)
Round 11-18: sc in each stitch around. (6)
Continue to stuff as you go.
Round 19: (*sc, 2sc) repeat from * around. (9)
Round 20: sc in each stitch around. (9)  
Round 21: (*sc next 2 stitches, 2sc) repeat from * around. (12)
Round 22: sc in each stitch around (12)
Round 23: (*sc next 3, 2sc) repeat from * around. (15)
Round 24: sc in each stitch around. Tie off and leave a long tail for sewing. (15)

Horns (make 2)- With Jelly Bean and an H hook
Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 6sc in the MC, slst to join. (6) Now work in a continuous round.
Round 2: sc in each stitch around. (6)
Round 3: (*sc, 2sc) repeat from * around. (9)
Round 4-5: sc in each stitch around. Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Lightly stuff and sew to top of hood. (9)

Wings (make 4)- With Orange and an H hook

Row 1: ch16 and turn, sc in BB of 2nd ch from hook and each stitch across. (15)
Row 2-3: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. (15)
Row 4: ch1 and turn, scdec 2 times, sc next 9 stitches, scdec. (12)
Row 5: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc next 8 stitches, scdec. (10)
Row 6: ch1 and turn, scdec 3 times, sc next 4 stitches. (7)
Row 7: ch1 and turn, scdec 2 times, sc next 3 stitches. (5)
Row 8: ch1 and turn, sc across. (5)
Row 9: ch1 and turn, 2sc, sc next 3 stitches, 2sc. (7)
Row 10: ch1 and turn, 2sc, sc next 4 stitches, scdec. (7)
Row 11: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc next 4 stitches, 2sc. (7)
Row 12: ch1 and turn, 2sc, sc next 4 stitches, scdec. (7)
Row 13: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc next 4 stitches, 2sc. (7)
Row 14-20: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. Tie off and weave in ends. (7)

**Take two of your wings and hold them together. Attach Bright Green yarn and sc the two wing pieces together placing 2sc in each corner. Tie off and leave a long tail for sewing. Do the same for the other two wings. Sew on to back of Dragon Onesie.

Tummy Piece- With Soft Blue and an H hook
Round 1: ch9 and turn, 2sc in the 2nd ch from hook and next 6 stitches, 2sc in last stitch. Continue up other side. 2sc in first stitch, sc in next 6 stitches, 2sc in last stitch, slst to first sc to join. (20)
Round 2: ch1, sc in same stitch and next 7 stitches, 2sc in next 3 stitches, sc in next 7 stitches, 2sc in each of the next 2 stitches, slst to join. (25)
Round 3: ch1, sc in same stitch and next 8 stitches, 2sc in each of the next 4 stitches, sc in next 9 stitches, 2sc in each of the next 3 stitches, slst to join. (32)

Treat Bag- With Orange and an H hook
Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 8sc in the MC, slst to join. (8) Now working in continuous rounds.
Round 2: 2sc in each stitch around. (16)
Round 3: (*sc, 2sc) repeat from * around. (24)
Round 4: (*sc in next 2 stiches, 2sc) repeat from * around. (32)
Round 5-8: sc in each stitch around. (32)
Round 9: (*sc in next 2 stitches, scdec) repeat from * around. (24)
Round 10: (*sc, scdec) repeat * around. (16)
Round 11-12: sc in each stitch around. (16)
*When you’re done with Round 12, slst in the next stitch, ch12, skip 8 stitches, slst in the 9th stitch. Tie off and weave in ends.

Treat Bag Dragon Wings (make 4)- With Soft Blue yarn and an H hook
Row 1: ch6 and turn, sc in BB of 2nd ch from hook and each stitch across. (5)
Row 2: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. (5)
Row 3: ch1 and turn, scdec 2 times, sc in next stitch. (3)
Row 4: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc in next stitch. (2)
Row 5: ch1 and turn, 2sc in each stitch. (4)
Row 6: ch1 and turn, 2sc, sc next 3 stitches. (5)
Row 7: ch1 and turn, sc next 4 stitches, 2sc. (6)
Row 8: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc next 4 stitches. 5)
Row 9: ch1 and turn, sc next 3 stitches, scdec. (4)
Row 10: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc next 2 stitches. (3)
Row 11: ch1 and turn, sc, scdec. (2)
Row 12-13: ch1 and turn, sc in each stitch across. Tie off and weave in ends. (2)
**Take two of your wings and hold them together. Attach Bright Green and sc the two wing pieces together placing 2sc in each corner. Tie off and leave a long tail for sewing. Do the same for the other two wings. Sew on to back of Dragon Treat Bag.
