Free Crochet Pattern Fox Teething Ring

This pattern is for my Fox Teething Ring! With cotton yarn it is approx. 3.5” from top of ears to bottom of ring. The pattern includes instructions and helpful pics for making the fox head as shown and how to attach it to the ring.

Fox Teething Ring

Approx. 3.5”

Materials Needed:

*I Love This Cotton yarn (4-medium) in Mango, White, and Black

*Size E hook (3.5mm)

*Tapestry needle for sewing in ends

*Scissors

*Stitch Marker

*Stuffing

*1.5” Wooden Teething Ring 

Gauge: With an E hook 9sc and 8 rows= 2.2”

Ch: chain

Slst: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet

Scdec: single crochet decrease

MC: magic circle

( ): repeat same stitches

BB: back bump

Head- With Mango and an E hook

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 6sc in the MC. (6)

Round 2: 2sc around. (12)

Round 3: (2sc, sc) around. (18)

Round 4: (2sc, sc next 2) around. (24)

Round 5-8: sc around. (24)

Round 9: (scdec, sc next 2) around. (18)

Round 10: (scdec, sc) around. (12) Stuff.

Round 11: scdec around. (6) Tie off and weave in ends. (This is the back) Sew on eyes with Black between rounds 6&7.

Nose- With White, Black, and an E hook

Starting with Black

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 6sc in the MC. Slst to join. (6) Tie off and weave in ends.

Switch to White

Round 2: 2sc around. (12)

Round 3: sc around. (12) Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew on to head at round 3.

Ears (make 2)- With Mango, Black, and an E hook

Starting with Mango

Row 1: ch2, sc in BB of 2^nd ch from hook. (1)

Row 2: ch1 and turn, 2sc. (2)

Row 3: ch1 and turn, 2sc, sc. (3)

Row 4: ch1 and turn, 2sc, sc, 2sc. (5) Continue to sc down the side, place 2sc in the point, sc down the other side, and slst to join. Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew on ear tip with Black. Sew on to head between rounds 8&9.

Ring Wrap- With Mango and an E hook

Row 1: ch7 and turn, sc in the BB of 2^nd ch from hook and each BB across. (6)

Row 2-5: ch1 and turn, sc across. (6) Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Wrap your piece around the wooden ring and sew the sides together. Sew Fox head to Ring Wrap.
