Note: I’ve PMomitted the chains at the begging of the rounds to get rid of the seam. I’ve added the chainless starting double crochet instead. The CSDC of each round will act like your chain and will be hidden in your work and not crocheted into. Make sure you place your last dc in the same stitch you placed your CSDC, and slst to the 1st dc of the round. You’ll be skipping over the CSDC when you slst to join. (See pics below)

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 10sc in MC. Slst to join. (10)
Round 2: CSDC, dc in same stitch, 2dc in each stitch around ending with a dc in the same stitch as you did your CSDC. Slst to 1st dc to join. (skip CSDC when you join) (20)
Round 3: CSDC, dc in same stitch, (*dc in next, 2dc in next) repeat * around ending with a dc in the same stitch as you did your CSDC. Slst to 1st dc to join. (30)
Round 4: CSDC, dc in same stitch, (*dc in next 2, 2dc in next) repeat from * around ending with a dc in the same stitch as you did your CSDC, slst to 1st dc to join. (40)
