Irish Boy
Accessories
What you’ll need:
*Size
H and G hooks
*I Love This Yarn in Orange,
White, Black, Yellow, Forest, (army green) and Jellybean (green)
*Little
bit of stuffing for shaping the hat
*Crochet
needle for sewing in ends
With an H hook
Gauge: 8dc and 3 rows= 2”x 2”
Abbreviations:

Chainless
Starting Double Crochet- I make my CSDC just
like a dc. It will be hidden behind your other stitches, so there is no need to
do the traditional twist before you start your stitch.
Attaching
yarn with a ch1- Insert your hook in to the stitch, pull up a loop with your new yarn,
yarn over and pull through making 1 chain.
Bobble
Stitch- *Yarn over, insert your hook into stitch,
yarn over and pull through 2 loops, repeat from* 4 more times, yarn over and
pull through remaining 6 loops.

Wig Cap- With Orange yarn and an H
hook
Note: I’ve omitted the
chains at the beginning of the rounds to get rid of the seam. I’ve added the
chainless starting double crochet instead. The CSDC of each round will act like
your chain and will be hidden in your work and not crocheted into. Make sure
you place your last dc in the same stitch you placed your CSDC, and slst to the
1st dc to join. You’ll be skipping over the CSDC when you slst to
join. (See pics below)

Beard- With Orange and an H hook
Row 1: ch 24. Sc in BB of 2nd ch from
hook and each BB across. (23)
Row 2: ch1 and turn, sc in first stitch, bobble in
next stitch, (*sc, bobble) repeat from * across ending with a sc in the last
stitch. (11 bobbles and 12sc)
Row 3: ch1 and turn, sc across. (23)
Row 4: ch1 and turn, scdec, (*bobble, sc) repeat
from *8 more times, bobble, scdec. (10 bobbles and 11sc)
Row 5: ch1 and turn, sc across. (21)
Row 6: ch1 and turn, scdec, (*bobble, sc) repeat
from *2 more times, ch6, skip 6 stitches, (*bobble, sc) repeat from *1 more
time, bobble, scdec. (6 bobbles 6ch, 7sc)
Row 7: ch1 and turn, slst in first 6 stitches, (*bobble,
sc) across your ch stitches, repeat from * 2 more times, slst in last 7
stitches. (3 bobbles and 13slst) (Your bobbles will be on the wrong side, so
you’ll need to poke them through the other side.) Tie off and leave a
long tail for sewing on to hat. Sew on to either side of hat leaving approx. 20
stitches between the sides.
Mini Top Hat- With
Jellybean, Black, stuffing, and an H hook
Starting with

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 10sc in the MC, slst to
join. (10)
Round 2: ch1, 2sc in each stitch around. Slst to join.

Round 3: ch1, (*2sc, sc) repeat from * around. Slst to

Round 4-7: ch1,
sc in each stitch around. Slst to join. (30)
Round 8: ch1,
(*sc, scdec) repeat from * around. Slst to join. (20) Tie off and weave in ends.
Switch to
Black
Round 9-10: ch1, sc in each stitch around. Slst to join.

Jellybean

Round 12: ch1, (*2sc, sc next 2 stitches) repeat from *
around. Slst to join. (40) Tie off and weave in ends. Stuff the top. Sew on to
Wig Cap according to pics.
Buckle for
Hat- With yellow yarn and an H hook
Row 1: ch3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch3,
sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch2,
sc back to first ch. Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew on to hat.
Undershirt- With White yarn and an
H hook
Row 1: Ch
31, sc in BB of 2nd ch from hook and BB of each ch across. Slst to
first sc to join. (Don’t forget to sew the little hole at the join) (30)
Round 2: ch1,
2hdc in same stitch, hdc in next stitch, (*2hdc, hdc) repeat around, slst to
first sc to join. (45)
Round 3: ch1,
hdc in same stitch and each stitch around. Slst to first hdc to join. (45)
Round 4: ch1, hdc in same
stitch, ch6, skip 12 stitches, hdc in next 11 stitches, ch6, skip 12 stitches,
hdc in last 9 stitches, slst to first hdc to join. (21 hdc stitches, and 2 ch6
spaces made)
Round 5: ch1,
hdc in same stitch and each stitch around including the ch6 spaces. Slst to
first hdc to join. (33)
Round 6-7: ch1,
hdc in same stitch and each stitch around. Slst to first hdc to join. (33) Tie
off and weave in ends.
*Starting with your work
upside down and facing you, attach yarn back at the sleeve and sc in each of
the ch6 stitches and 12 stitches skipped. Ch1, sc in each stitch around for 2
more rounds. Tie off and weave in ends. (18)

Suspenders

Forest yarn and an H hook
Row 1: ch21
and turn, sc in BB of 2nd ch from hook and each BB across. (20) Tie
off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew on to front of overalls and back of
pants. Repeat for other side.
Pant Buckle- With Yellow and a G hook
Row 1: ch3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch3,
sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch2,
sc back to first ch. Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew on to front of
overalls according to pics.
Shoes (make
2)- With
black and an H hook
Round 1: MC,
ch1, place 9sc in the MC and slst to join. (9) Working in continuous rounds.
Round 2: 2sc in each stitch

sc back to first ch. Tie off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew on to shoes
according to pics.
