Free Crochet Pattern Oli the Octopus

Oli the Octopus

Approx. 3”

Materials Needed:

*I Love This Cotton yarn (4-medium) in Mint, Pasadena, and Black

*Size E hook (3.5mm)

*Tapestry needle for sewing in ends

*Scissors

*Stitch Marker

*Stuffing

Gauge: With an E hook 9sc and 8 rows= 2.2”

Abbreviations:

Ch: chain

Slst: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet

Scdec: single crochet decrease

Hdc: half double crochet

MC: magic circle

( ): repeat same stitches

BB: back bump

Body- With Mint and an E hook

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 6sc in the MC. (6)

Round 2: 2sc around. (12)

Round 3: (2sc, sc) around. (18)

Round 4: (2sc, sc next 2) around. (24)

Round 5: (2sc, sc next 3) around. (30)

Round 6-10: sc around. (30)

Round 11: (scdec, sc next 3) around. (24)

Round 12: FLO: (4hdc, slst) around. (12 shells)

Round 13: BLO: (scdec, sc next 2) around. (18)

Round 14: FLO: (scdec, sc) around. (12) Stuff.

Round 15: scdec around. (6) Tie off and weave in ends. Sew on eyes with Black between rounds 6&7. Add a smile with Black between rounds 10&11.

Curls- With Pasadena and an E hook

Attach yarn to the FL of Round 13

Row 1: (ch11, place 3sc in the BB of 2^nd ch from hook and each ch across. scdec in next) around. (9 Curls) Tie off and weave in ends.
