Free Crochet Pattern Newborn-3mo Olyvia Hat

This adorable hat was made for our newest little one, Olyvia. I had so much fun designing the textures and picking out the colors to make this a quick and fun baby hat! I wrote this pattern in 0-3 months with adjustments for newborn. You can make the Olyvia hat in an size by adding more increase rounds and adding more rounds for the length. Hope you enoy!

Materials Needed:

*Size H hook (5mm)

*I Love This Yarn in White, Turquoise, and Pink

*Tapestry needle for sewing in ends

*Scissors

Gauge: H hook, 9dc x 4rows = 2.5x2.5

*ch- chain                                     

*slst- slip stitch

*sc- single crochet

*hdc- half double crochet

*dc- double crochet

*MC- Magic circle

*FPDC- front post double crochet

*( )- repeat same stitches

*[ ]- place all of the stitches in the same stitch

0-3/Newborn- With White, Turquoise, Pink, and an H hook

(For Newborn, remove Rounds 5 and 14.)

Starting with White

Round 1: MC, ch1 and place 10sc in the MC. Slst to join.

Round 2: ch1, [dc, fpdc] in same stitch repeat around. Slst to join. (20)

Round 3: ch1, (fpdc in first, [dc, fpdc] in next) repeat around. Slst to join. (30)

Round 4: ch1, (fpdc in first, [dc, fpdc] in next, fpdc) repeat around. Slst to join. (40)

Round 5: ch1, (fpdc in first, [dc, fpdc] in next, fpdc next 2) repeat around. Slst to join. (50)

Round 6-7: ch1, fpdc around. Slst to join. (50)

Alternate White and Pink 1 fpdc each

Round 8: ch1, fpdc around. Slst to join. (50) Carry White up.

Switch to Pink

Round 9: ch1, sc around. Slst to join. (50)

Switch to Turquoise

Round 9: ch1, sc around. Slst to join. (50) Tie off and weave in ends.

Switch to Pink

Round 9: ch1, sc around. Slst to join. (50) Tie off and weave in ends.

Switch to White

Round 10-12: ch1, hdc around. Slst to join. (50)

Round 13-14: ch1, sc around. Slst to join. (50) Tie off and weave in ends.  

Flower- With Turquoise and an H hook

I used the Crocodile Stitch Flower pattern by Bonita Patterns and Yarns. Instead of starting with a ch7, I did a MC and slst all the ch10 into the MC so I could cinch it closed without adding a button.
